First off, I very much like this piece/style, especially the Credit Card with its bold and crisp colors but still not "cartoony". Cheers for that, even if the client wants to go in another direction, well done.
Just my 0.2c ... if it were my work I'd at least keep it around in a "Misc" bin ( personally I keep a ~/Projects/misc/ Album for just this reason ), to me even left "as is" and abandoned for the new direction its a very nice piece and may even come in handy for another project later on and/or I've sometimes grouped a "Misc" collection if I am feeling generous or "just because" of 5 to 10 items like this into one nice zip thats "Creative Commons with Arbitration" so I still get credit and possibly exposure but offer it up for free. You at least get some exposure from what would normally go only to the trash bin that way ... and sometimes even a substantial bit of exposure if even a lot of "free loaders" download and use it ( with the required link back to you for Credit, great Google PageRank too from that ) versus only ever releasing a preview similar this one that mainly only other designers will come across for the most part ( thats got its own perks , just in a different way ). One other thing when you something like that too is that if it does end up getting quite a few downloads recorded for the set, normally many more than if just a "trash bin" piece alone would get, then it is fair game to add it to or at minimum mention in a portfolio / resume as well
Anyhow , not trying to "sell" you on the idea or anything, just presenting it to ya so if you'd not thought about it ( or maybe not in this way ) ... its not for everyone nor every piece/project but good to have in your tool belt at any rate.
Take it as you will, but please know its only a idea/suggestion, not trying to get you to give anything away or work for free, hopefully this comes across in that way
actually i was complimenting it. But yes actually lightening it up 5% to 10% would do the trick Also the Numbers on the Credit Card are just prefect!.. wonder how you did it
